What do The World's Kindest Playing Cards by GivaGeta Smiles do?
“We found it to be a real useful tool for the kids and even our colleagues. GivaGeta gives an insight on kids and how they work in a group. We pretty much work in a collaborative environment. This gives a sense how kids respond. Sometimes we see this about kids in class. Their activities allows you to really get a sense of Student A and Student B respond. For example, a person who takes a back seat. They allow me, as an advisor, to say I noticed you stepped back and I may ask why they felt uncomfortable or disconnected with the activity. It creates teachable moments for "How do you still contribute if you do not like something?"
As in life, there are going to be a lot of times when you will need to do things you do not like, but still have to do it. In one activity, a student said the answer once then retreated. I asked him why did you stop? Did you realize no one was listening? Or was it you didn't make yourself heard? Then, as a group, was your group actively listening? It creates experiences that are going to engage kids. It gives you an opportunity to see them in action. It is difficult to replicate the experience what you can do with the GivaGeta Smiles™ cards as in a classroom setting. GivaGeta gives an advisor or teacher insight on kids. It is great for Icebreakers, Leadership Programs, Advisee Groups, and is a really, really useful processing tool for K-12 as it resonates with the kids. It is even useful amongst my colleagues!”
